Who Is Daniel?
Majority of us are familiar with the story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den, mostly from Sunday School or a sermon preached on this topic; however, many of us are unfamiliar with The Book of Daniel in its entirety.
The book of Daniel which can be found in the Old Testament of the Bible, is about a Hebrew boy who was deported to Babylon, handpicked for government service and later became the prime minister for Babylon. Daniel’s story became an interesting read for me not because of God protecting him in the lion’s den, however, because of his obedience and intimacy with God.
Eating like Daniel
Learning to eat like Daniel is all about eating healthy food that are internally good for your body and not food that will hinder the inside of your body. In the bible, Daniel and his friends chose not to eat the king’s food or any pleasant food that would gratify the flesh, but choosing to eat foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, legumes, etc. that would build a healthy mind, body and spirit. Learning to eat like Daniel makes you more aware of what it is you are eating and putting in your body.
